Bimatoprost Eyelash Serum uk

Bimatoprost eyelash serum uk is a new treatment that doubles lashes within eight weeks. It’s already available as a prescription treatment for hypotrichosis (sparse eyelashes) in America, and has now been approved by the MHRA for use in the UK. It’s expected to be launched later this year.

The main active ingredient in this product is an eyedrop called bimatoprost – a type of prostamide drug that works by increasing the flow of liquid from the inside of your eyes into the bloodstream to lower eye pressure. This drug was originally developed to treat glaucoma but, as a side effect of the medication, users noticed that their eyelashes were growing longer, thicker and darker. The pharmaceutical company that produced this drug, Allergan, then re-labelled it with a more cosmetic name and developed a formula designed to harness this growth-enhancing property. This became the first ever eyelash serum to be FDA-approved for this purpose.

This is the same active ingredient found in Latisse, which is currently only available via a prescription. You can obtain a prescription through a private doctor, or you can buy it online through a pharmacy that will provide an e-prescription and deliver the product directly to your door (that’s us!).

This eye drop is applied to the base of your upper eyelashes every day, using a disposable applicator brush provided. You can use it up to 3 times per week once the desired results are achieved. The effects of the medication begin to appear within four weeks but it can take up to 16 weeks for the full effect to be seen. This is because it takes a while for the hair follicles to reach their growth cycle. The most common side effects of this medication include eye redness, itching and a feeling that something is in the eyes. More serious side effects can include a change in eye colour and eye infections. If you have any of these symptoms, talk to a pharmacist or doctor immediately.  bimatoprost eyelash serum uk
